🎬 Garden State (2004)

Blending great humor with a thoughtful view of mental health - rare for an early-2000s film-Garden State delivers a warm and sincere story filled with memorable characters and a phenomenal soundtrack.

🎬 Glory Road (2006)

While the message and story are important, Glory Road has an inspiring true story at its core that unfortunately feels too predictable, and the clichés keep it from being as powerful as it could be.

🎬 The Pursuit of Happyness (2006)

A brilliant performance by Will Smith. He brings an authenticity, hope, and heart that truly lifts the spirit of the film. Deeply moving, the movie is a reminder that through resilience and belief, one can aspire to new heights.

Wicked: For Good

Wicked: For Good (2025) like it’s predecessor, immersed the audience in the gorgeous, fully realized land of Oz. Every aspect of the production was executed incredibly.

🎬 Snake Eyes (2021)

As someone who is a fan of the G.I. Joe series, this was disappointing on so many levels. Sure, the film has plenty of sword fights, but little substance - it feels more chaotic than cohesive storytelling and fails to capture any of the spirit of the franchise.

🎬 The Woman King (2022)

While the performances - especially Viola Davis’s - are strong, the film didn’t really resonate with me. The story feels uneven and the pacing is off. That said, there are some powerful moments, and the film is visually striking,

🎬 Something’s Gotta Give (2003)

A fun and charming romantic comedy with stellar performances from Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton - their undeniable chemistry carries the film and keeps you invested in the characters. The dialogue is entertaining and witty, though it does drag at times.

🎬 Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000)

A breathtaking masterpiece that blends stunning martial arts choreography with beautiful, emotional storytelling. The aesthetics are mesmerizing, the performances are brilliant, and the score perfectly complements every scene.

🎬 American History X (1998)

Easily one of the best films of the 90s. A powerful masterpiece that explores themes of redemption, hate, and the human capacity for change. Edward Norton delivers a performance that’s both intense and raw. A deeply emotional and unforgettable movie.

🎬 Top Gun: Maverick (2022)

I know I’m going to get a lot of grief for this, but Top Gun: Maverick just didn’t land for me. It’s basically the same movie from the 80s, only with a fresh coat of paint and a heavy dose of nostalgia. Sure, the action sequences were cool,

🎬 Miracle (2004)

A solid feel good sports drama, Miracle is filled with inspiring moments and great sports sequences. Some parts drag and it leans on the usual underdog clichés, but overall it’s still an enjoyable watch.

🎬 Sleepless in Seattle (1993)

After years of people telling me I had to check this one off my movie list, I finally watched Sleepless in Seattle. It’s sweet and heartfelt, and Hanks and Ryan are as charming as everyone says - but they barely share any screen time, which makes the whole “love story”

🎬 The Terminator (1984)

The one that started it all. This sci-fi film is every bit as gripping all these years later-a gritty, apocalyptic story that plays out more like a horror show, striking a brilliant balance of action and suspense.

🎬 Caddyshack (1980)

Unfortunately like most comedies the humor from this film just doesn’t hold up. Aside from the golf puns and the ridiculousness of elite country clubs the film is overall pretty mediocre and in all likelyness lives off of nostalgia.
