Works in R&D in the medical industry.
Interested in quantum foundations.

Author of “Introduction to Quantum Computing with Q# and QDK” (Springer).
upgraded my home connection to 10Gbit fiber

Only to realize that none of my devices, including the newly set up mesh network ("why pay extra for 10Gbit support?") and the new Mac ("why pay extra for 10Gbit support?") do not support it 😣

Elon: "I know absolutely nothing about this, so here's my expert opinion"
I’ve always thought the problem with quantum computers is that they don’t cost nearly enough money (ideally, at least a million dollars per kg!), and should experience heavy vibrations and crushing G-forces after being calibrated. ⚛️🧪

Super interesting post by @filipw.strathweb.com about how to use expensive Cloud LLMs to coordinate the work of less expensive local LLMs. I might try to recreate a similar demo using WinAI APIs and see if I get similarly good results!

When and how will quantum computing broadly benefit humanity? Despite exhilarating recent progress, we still don’t know. Here my friend Jens Eisert and I assess the current status and the challenges ahead.

Mind the gaps: The fraught road to quantum advantage
Quantum computing is advancing rapidly, yet substantial gaps separate today's noisy intermediate-scale quantum (NISQ) devices from tomorrow's fault-tolerant application-scale (FASQ) machines. We ident...

5 undeniable, truthful facts about dark matter

There are always people promoting their own (shoddy) "alternative" ideas to dark matter.

These five undeniable truths box those alternatives into a corner they can't escape from. (Yes, that one too!)

Dark matter has never been directly detected, but the astronomical evidence for its existence is overwhelming. Here's what to know.

When Werner Heisenberg came up with his original "observable" idea for quantum mechanics, he turned to Max Born and Pascual Jordan to help advance the ideas further, but they couldn't manage to apply the theory to the electron in hydrogen atom.

this is maybe my favorite dunk anyone has ever done on Duke
