Nobody should be killed for what they believe in, and that includes Charlie Kirk. That said, it's important to remember who he was: an enemy of democracy. I'm sorry he was killed. I will not miss his toxic voice.

Here is a WAPO article that talks about the yarn problem. Several overseas suppliers, some famous, have stopped sales to the U.S. altogether.

The same thing is true of cotton, which is also shipped overseas for processing.

We need more mills here if we want more domestic yarns. Unfortunately, we would probably have to import the machinery from Europe, because nobody here makes it anymore. Can you say Catch 22?
September 15, 2025 at 4:41 PM
There are very few wool mills left in this country. They went out of business years ago when it became way cheaper to ship wool halfway around the world, process it, and ship it back. It also has to do with the lack of demand for wool products here with the rise of synthetics.

Many of you out there might be asking, "So why don't you just buy U.S. made yarns," in response to my last post. The answer is there isn't enough American made yarn on the market. Most of the wool grown in this country is shipped to the far east for processing.

I will continue to buy from this company, because I really like their yarn and I can't find anything comparable in the U.S. Plus, just like small companies here, I don't want them to go under because of Donnie Two-Dolls' misguided economic actions. These ridiculous tarrifs are costing all of us!
September 14, 2025 at 7:14 PM
I just bought about $50 worth of yarn from Hobbii, an online yarn store I love in Denmark. Shipping is their normal $5, still very reasonable. They list tarrifs separately: almost $10. If anyone out there has any doubt as to who pays the tariffs, it is us, the purchaser.

Somebody better tell those "Great Lawyers" who are supposedly crafting this EO that they are wasting their time. Such a Dick Head! Capitalized it so you'll know it's true...

Donnie Two-Dolls also said he will sign an executive order that eliminates mail-in balloting. That is so UNCONSTITUTIONAL! Each state gets to decide how they run elections. It’s not a federal thing.
August 18, 2025 at 7:47 PM
I just heard TACO say that mail-in balloting is corrupt, especially in California where some people receive more than five ballots. Such a lie! I would like to know of one single person who got more than one ballot. Anyone out there in this group? Such a fricking liar.

I don't know if my Swedish immigrant grandmother was a citizen when my mother was born. If not, am I and are my children potentially at risk for deportation? I'm 71. That's a pretty scary proposition.
June 28, 2025 at 12:49 AM
I'm 71. Will I be at risk of deportation? Will my children? Will we all be rushing to become naturalized citizens? This is absolutely ridiculous.
June 28, 2025 at 12:42 AM
I don't know. If not, and the Supreme Court finds that the 14th Amendment only applies to the children of slaves, does that mean that my mother wasn't a citizen and that I am not a citizen, either? Both have died, but the question remains, right?
June 28, 2025 at 12:39 AM
My grandmother was an immigrant. She came here from Sweden when she was two years old. She became a citizen as an adult. Was she a citizen when my mother was born?
