"Bioregioning: the act of bringing your bioregion into existence through:🍃 grounding, connecting, celebrating, belonging 🍃

🦫To begin: ground yourself in the here and now. You already live in a bioregion. Manifest it to yourself by exploring the land around you.
July 17, 2025 at 10:16 AM
Our bioregion can be found along a recently glaciated, multi-layered, and complex winding coast, taking in islands, headlands, bays, harbour fishing villages, peninsulas, sea and land lochs, fields, farms, cliffs, gullies, gorges, ravines, rocky scars, knolls, hills, and the foothills of mountains.⛰️

🌱 As #InvasiveSpeciesWeek draws to a close, we wanted to share pictures taken from the same spot, the first in 2020 before rhododendron clearance, the second in 2024 afterwards. See how the complex topography of the land is revealed, plus native trees which had disappeared from view.

"Trees share resources to overcome environmental challenges."

Ecosystems work together to overcome difficult conditions, and most people do the same, given a chance.

But we're told selfishness is not only normal, but a good thing, because that's how those who crave and gain wealth and power are.

#InvasiveSpeciesWeek
Early in our journey of becoming rare woodland custodians, we were challenged on how to manage the wood in ways that safeguard all rare species on site. They're threatened by invasive rhododendrons for a start.

This week we unpack our approaches to managing invasive species. 🌿
