A bit choked up. Someone I know, socially, who is a police officer dealing with SV/DA cases has just told me that she deals with cases that come under the offence of non-fatal strangulation on a daily basis.

I was one of the women who spoke out to show why this law was needed.

Have gone through two sets of bike lights for #rowing outings this winter. They either break or simply aren’t bright enough.

Can anyone recommend any?

Need to be able to fit to rigger/bow of boat.
Ideally rechargeable
Good brightness/size
Won’t break the bank

🙏

I’m not entirely sure what possessed me to buy leopard print leggings for my winter #rowing kit, but I’m going with it…

Currently taking bets on how long this will stay up before one, two or all three of my cats are in it. One bauble casualty so far…

Treated myself to a bottle of Chanel Coco Mademoiselle on Black Friday, which has just arrived. Naturally, I am now swanning around the house, in my leggings and cardi, smelling fantabulous.

One of my cats - Oscar - decided to come up and give me a real cuddle this morning. He’s such a wonderful animal.

It’s 2c. I’m working under a pile of blankets, trying to hype myself up to get changed and go downstairs to do my 30 min erg session. Reluctant would be an understatement.

Not remotely shocked by this. Surprised it’s not already happened tbf…
Tech analysts in the Observer today are suggesting that X will merge with Trump's Truth Social

Obviously it already feels like that's happened in some senses. But a formal merger would solidify X's formal status as an explicitly hard/far-right platform

Can someone tell me to get off my a*se and do my Sunday erg (row)?

Everyone seems to be finding their breaking point with The Other Place. I guess I should explain mine: it was the realisation that ⬇️ this ⬇️ wasn’t the first or even second such threat I’ve received on there, but more like the hundredth. I’d almost come to expect them and that’s just not right.

I’m slowly moving over here from the Hellscape. In the meantime, please enjoy this picture of Boo, my cat, enjoying the warmth of the fireplace…

Historical Fact of the Day:

Richard Cromwell, who served briefly as Lord Protector following the death of Oliver between 1658-9, held the record for the longest lived British Head of State for 300+ years.

He died in 1712 aged 85.

He was only beaten by Elizabeth II in 2022.
