@cnn.com provides a good breakdown about the largest confirmed cuts to the federal workforce: NIH, Dept of Veterans Affairs, Education, HUD, USAID. All of this is still ongoing and we're probably going to get very big numbers from workers opting for the Deferred Resignation Program.

HHS workers constitute less than 1% of its spending.

1000s of federal workers have been placed on administrative leave and locked out of their offices and computers. Workers on admin leave are being paid but can't do their work.

DOGE, OPM and OMB should testify under oath about how this is "efficient." News flash: it isn't.

According to OPM data (Sept 2024), USAID has 3293 US based employees and 1507 foreign/unspecified employees for a total of 4800 employees. Unless OPM data is incorrect, the 10k number floated by @nytimes.com and other sources is not correct.

I suspect the 10k number includes contractors.
