Covering the Sacramento Kings for Sactown Sports 1140 ✍️
The Sacramento Kings are 3-8, which ties the 2017-18 Kings for the worst 11-game start in over 35 years.

Bad. Just bad. Not much more to add.

The Sacramento Kings' record through 11 games over the years:

2024-25: 6-5
2023-24: 7-4
2022-23: 5-6
2021-22: 5-6
2020-21: 5-6

It’s undeniable that the Kings have talent. It just isn’t the right mix or collection of talent.

And because of it, players like Keon Ellis–as well as the Sacramento fanbase–are having to deal with the consequences.

The Sacramento Kings drop their second-straight game by 27+ points.

Sacramento (3-7) is off to its worst 10-game start to a season since 2017-18.

They finished that season with a record of 27-55.

A very loud "We want Keon" chant has broken out at Golden 1 Center.

Kings fans appear fed up with Keon Ellis' lack of playing time.

Sacramento is down by 19 and looks terrible on both ends of the floor. I really don't see what the harm would be in playing Nique Clifford, Keon Ellis, Maxime Raynaud, Devin Carter. See what you have with your young guys.
November 10, 2025 at 3:41 AM
You can hear some boos at Golden 1 Center as Sacramento calls a timeout, trailing Minnesota by 19 with 1:26 to go in the first half.

The Kings are shooting 39% FG and have allowed 18 points off their 10 turnovers.

After scoring just 9 points during Friday's loss to OKC, Zach LaVine looks like Zach LaVine again.

14 PTS | 3 REB | 2 AST | 5/9 FG | 4/6 3PT | 16 MIN
November 10, 2025 at 2:55 AM
Domantas Sabonis is definitely playing through some pain. He's grabbing at his injured rib/chest often in the early going.

Yet, he has 6 points and 5 rebounds over his first nine minutes of action.
November 10, 2025 at 2:42 AM
Nique Cifford checked in one minute ago and already has two rebounds and an assist.
November 10, 2025 at 2:31 AM
The five-game homestand continues.

A Sacramento loss tonight would drop them to 3-7, which would be their worst 10-game start to a season since 2017-18 when they went 27-55 🫣

Kings vs. T-Wolves. 6 PM.
November 9, 2025 at 11:48 PM
Not even ten games into the season, the Kings' logjam is starting to rear its ugly head.

Keegan Murray hasn't played a game yet, and it's inevitable that Keon Ellis and Nique Clifford will be the ones to lose playing time.

Tonight, Ellis was the odd man out.

Balance is needed.

After taking a 32-30 lead at the end of the 1Q, Sacramento was outscored 102-69 for the remainder of the game.

OKC finished the night with a 60-34 advantage in the paint.

I'm not sure how that issue will be resolved for the Kings anytime soon.
November 8, 2025 at 5:23 AM
Russell Westbrook has scored 20+ points in three straight games for Sacramento.

This marks the first time that Westbrook has scored 20+ in 3+ consecutive games since January 2023 when Westbrook played for the Lakers.
November 8, 2025 at 4:49 AM
OKC outscored Sacramento 40-24 in the 2Q while shooting 66% FG, outscoring the Kings 24-8 in the paint during the period.

Kings trail 70-56. That escalated QUICK.
November 8, 2025 at 4:09 AM
Isaiah Hartenstein is destroying the Kings' interior defense. He has 20 points on 8/9 FG, and we're only in the 2Q.

His career high is 24 points
November 8, 2025 at 3:58 AM
OKC is hammering Sacramento in the paint (24-6).

Kings are knocking down triples at a high rate (8/16), which is keeping them close--for now.
November 8, 2025 at 3:47 AM
Malik Monk said he worked all offseason on his three-point shooting--especially the ability to catch and shoot.

So far this season, the work is paying off.

17/32 (53%) 🔥
November 8, 2025 at 3:33 AM
Russell Westbrook is automatic from the corner.

Westbrook is now shooting 10/18 (55%) from the corner three this season.
November 8, 2025 at 3:30 AM
Maxime Raynaud with the showtime behind-the-back pass (???)

That was clean.
November 8, 2025 at 3:26 AM
Russell Westbrook was shaking his left hand in discomfort, but he clearly is feeling okay after knocking down a triple on the next possession.

Westbrook is 2/3 from deep over the first six minutes of action.

It’s NBA Cup Night at G1C.

Are we in store for more Russell Westbrook magic?

Kings vs. Thunder. 7 PM.
November 8, 2025 at 12:52 AM
Russell Westbrook is proving he still has plenty left in the tank, and he's doing it on a non-guaranteed, minimum contract.

Over 8 games:
15.0 PTS | 7.1 REB | 5.6 AST | 1.4 STL | 43% 3PT

Pretty crazy that nobody else took a flier on him this summer.
November 6, 2025 at 2:49 PM
Kings players in the Sacramento-era (1985-present) to post a 20+ point, 15+ rebound, 10+ assist triple-double:

Domantas Sabonis (7x)
Chris Webber (4x)
DeMarcus Cousins (2x)
Russell Westbrook

Westbrook tonight: 23 PTS | 16 REB | 10 AST
November 6, 2025 at 5:49 AM
The short-handed Kings defeat the short-handed Warriors thanks to a vintage performance from Russell Westbrook.

Westbrook: 23 PTS | 16 REB | 10 AST
Schroder: 13 PTS in the 4Q

Sacramento improves to 3-5 on the season.
