I attended a political protest yesterday for the first time in my life. Smallish (a few hundred), peaceful, friendly, rainy. Inspiring. Empowering. Incredible support from folks driving by.

And I sang the national anthem, into a bullhorn. Twice 😊🇺🇲

I'm always so jealous of other knitters' relaxed Sunday morning knitting posts. I work on Sundays so can't ever knit in the morning 😫 but I'm having a lovely time on this Monday holiday morning 🇺🇲 😊

Hey #knitsky--

Those of you who knit socks 2 at a time: how long of a circular needle do you use? I just bought some 40" and it seems far too long for magic loop for socks

Also, how would I ever use a size 0 or 1, 40" circular? Thinking about returning them. But maybe they'd be useful someday?

Wishing I wore it to work today. It's chilly!

When I started knitting about a year and a half ago, I wanted to spend less time scrolling and to be creative in a tangible way. I am here to report that it's working, and the mental health benefits have been an unexpected bonus. 🧶

Nearly finished with my first stranded colorwork cowl and just learned that it matters which color yarn is held in which position 😵‍💫

No, I will not be frogging it. I'll block it, wear it proudly, and hold the yarn correctly going forward.

Insomnia knitting. Doodle Cowl by Pacific Knits. My first project with Malabrigo Rios and I am in love with it. But it's after midnight and I need to try to sleep.

If I can't, well, I'll be back.

Was trying to fall asleep last night and realized I was thinking about yarn for my next project 🤣🧶

I made the Fingering Yarn Cozy by Melina Frenken. It (with 2 more yet to be made) will keep my yarn cakes organized for an upcoming colorwork cowl project. It's also the way I decided to use the yarn sale sock yarn that wasn't enough for a pair. 🧶

It's basically a really small hat 😊

My only gray knit thus far. My Sophie scarf, coming in handy on a 38°F morning when I have to play a funeral. 🧶

Ok #knitsky, I need your advice. I have 100g of this amazing 75/25 merino nylon fingering sock yarn. My feet are too big for that to be enough for shortie socks 😖 so what about a Sophie scarf? Seems a bit stiff. Go up a needle size for drape? Or forget about it? Love this yarn & want to use it! 🧶

Do not normalize children dying from measles. Measles was previously eliminated in the US, thanks to vaccines.

When children die from measles, it means that adults have catastrophically failed to protect them because they have rejected basic science.

I see all you experienced knitters making "summer knits" and I'm having a hard time imagining that anything I could make wouldn't have me completely sweating and miserable in the summer. Change my mind 😁 🧶

Gloomy, sleeting Monday, but the workout is done, dogs are walked, and my cozy breakfast porridge of leftover quinoa was delish. Using leftovers=win, and having them be yummy AND healthy AND warm on a nasty day is an even bigger win. #wfpb #dogsofbluesky

Hey @resistanceknitters.bsky.social, I'm feeling inspired by yesterday's protests and the Knit for Food event. Wondering if there would be interest in a Knit to Resist event, with knitters getting sponsors and donating proceeds to Indivisible or another democracy-forward organization. Thoughts? 🧶

I may make a real one after the practice one. Love the pattern!

I've reached the halfway point of the picot bind off on my pink poncho. I was hoping to wear it tomorrow for laetare Sunday. Will I finish it? Can fingering superwash merino dry overnight? Probably no and no but I keep knitting. 🧶
