You’re spot on. I‘m struggling even making such an obvious argument here. The ONLY thing to consider when hiring is capability if you want the best and brightest - and if that entire group are marginalized people that’s great!

By definition if you hire on anything other than merit it has to be. Do you have any common sense? Quotas force compromise in hiring practices.

The bottom line is you can make anyone seem terrible with out of context snippets of what they say. But you cannot send me one clip of the man in his own words that has one iota of hate, racism or misogyny in it. He was a faith filled man that loved everyone. And your party shot him for it.

But the one last thing I will mention - the last one about Palestine...3 days before his death he called Israel out for cultural genocide, showing he can evolve on issues when facts change. That's how critical thinkers live their lives.

The retirement angle is complicated but his main points 1) SS is not sustainable, people should be able to opt out and invest that money themselves, and it would help balance the budget, 2) he believed God gave you gifts and while it's fine to slow down you should always be helping people and doing

The Taylor Swift comment was related to how strictly he interpreted marital roles in the Bible. The wife should support and care for the family including her husband. The Husband should work hard to earn and be faithful. You don't have to agree with it, but that doesn't make it hate speech.

His black pilot analogy was 100% related to the fact that standards are lowered when DEI/AA policies are implemented. He believed surgeons and pilots should be hired 100% on merit and not quotas. He believed that if we didn't have DEI we'd have a better chance at treating everyone equally
