i fear we’ll get TikTok back around Tuesday-ish and it will be a much different place. it may look the same but the vibe shift will be subtle and very, very wrong.

My little corner of Booktok became such a refuge for me ever since the pandemic hit in 2020. There was nothing like it. The interactions there were second only to 2018-2019 Reylo Twitter. It’s now the second platform I’ve lost where I felt a real, true connection to other people. I’m devastated.

i was hesitant to give “my december darling” by Lauren Asher a try bc of my previous experiences with her books, but i’m glad i did! 38% in and really enjoying it! i love the black cat woman / golden retriever man vibes 🥰

the amazon “under the mistletoe” collection was really cute overall and such an enjoyable way to get in a few holiday themed reads. ali hazelwood’s and tessa bailey’s contributions to the project were by far the standouts of the 5 novellas.

the downfall of TikTok in the US feels so surreal because i came from twitter, where i hardly ever showed my face and had to find ways to relate to people through text and memes. now i can’t fathom going back to making mostly text only content after finally getting comfortable on camera.
