Familiar Additions, a Minecraft Mod, introduces new yet familiar content: scrapped features, elements from Minecraft spinoffs, and completely new ideas. FA is built off of Mojang's design philosophy to make new content fit the game, with some exceptions.
Legit, these are so fun to mess around with. It's so rewarding actually seeing features come together with so few bugs. The only thing left for steel drums is to allow for stacks of items to properly stack to 99 only inside the container. #mcdev #minecraft

MORE sounds 😈 y'all's I think I'm cooking lately. A lot of these sounds are old, especially the obsidian sounds, which is shocking because it's probably the most high quality sound I've made. Sometimes I'll screw up sounds and they sound so distorted but other times I think I cook #mcdev #minecraft

Now it's my job to give it an additional purpose. it is able to flip stacked slabs and toggle blockstates of some blocks but other than that, there's nothing different. Pain.

I swear y'all's, I don't copy other mods, it's all a coincidence 😭 Maybe since this keeps happening, that means the ideas make so much sense for Minecraft? Idk, but I hope I have a somewhat different take on the idea. #mcdev #minecraft

the lack of ambience in this version is so unsatisfying. Siren blaring is technically ambience but it's not enough. The deep dark now has ambience, and some blocks give off sounds too. In the new clip, you might be able to hear a broken redstone heart pulsing. It really brings everything together.

Content is still missing from this clip, most importantly the function of the siren. When a siren is blaring, it will set of sculk sensors and shriekers in a 16 block radius and count as a player interaction. When I placed the boat, it set off the siren, and Redstone Interference destroyed the boat.

2026 recreation of the first redstone labs clip I took back in 2024. The original clip was all done as a concept with resource packs (I will post it tomorrow,) and not long after that, I realized that I'm waiting for nothing and just jumped right into actual mod development. #mcdev #minecraft

Steel drums now go boom if they contain 5 or more gunpowder. The explosion will scale with the amount of gunpowder inside (I haven't figured that out yet.) Also, the gimmick of steel drums is that each slot can hold 99 items instead of 64, but it only has 9 slots. #mcdev #minecraft

I am flabbergasted, so much pain (mental) went into just getting this thing to generate with jigsaw blocks. countless hours and lost sleep was worth it LESSGOOOOOOOO! this is my first ever jigsaw structure that actually works. The biggest challenge of the labs' development has been overcome. #mcdev

it is set to 10 and actually disregard what I said earlier because I FINALLY DID IT. It's such an unforgiving system but I got it working perfectly and pretty much pushed the game to its limit

oh this is so true. the only truly massive ones I've seen are entire worlds made up of structures. I hope what I've been working on ends up being something interesting, I haven't seen anyone ever do anything like it before and so far it is turning out better than I could have anticipated.
