Big Brother Bamboo was born of a thought-provoking conversation with a friend. We were discussing the horrors in the Middle East when she deflected to the Uyghurs in China. I said perhaps I’ll write about that too. It’s a tale about the balance between surveillance in the name of safety vs. privacy.

Big Brother Bamboo was born of a thought-provoking conversation with a friend. We were discussing the horrors in the Middle East when she deflected to the Uyghurs in China. I said perhaps I’ll write about that too. It’s a tale about the balance between surveillance in the name of safety vs. privacy.
As I continue developing the story of Big Brother Bamboo (working title), I’m excited to introduce one of its central characters: A beautiful Crested Ibis, an endangered species. The Ibis is a water bird but breeds in the forest, which is where our story takes place.
