Almost two years ago, the war in Gaza started, and at least 200 journalists have been killed.

Who were they? Under what circumstances did they die? Were they deliberately targeted by Israel in an attempt to suppress the truth about what is going on in Gaza?

If every effort to strengthen democracy gets misframed as censorship, only disinformation benefits. Building civic capacity isn’t suppression, it’s the foundation of empowered freedom.

Israel continues to target the same ports on Yemen’s Hodeidah coast. It's been over a year since the first strikes on these ports.

Despite significant damage to piers, visual evidence suggests the Houthis' fuel supply lines from the ports are still active

I always welcome the chance to step out of the journalism space and engage with others professions. This time to discuss how to grapple with the same challenge: the growing impact of disinformation.

This was also the topic of conversation among many journalists from the US and elsewhere during the @journalismfestival.com last week.

Wiping devices, burner phones and contingency planning are all part of a very sudden new normal when it comes to visiting or returning as a journalist in the US.
Breaking news: The European Commission is issuing burner phones and basic laptops to some US-bound staff to avoid the risk of espionage — a measure traditionally reserved for trips to China www.ft.com/content/20d0...
