#OnThisDay in 1998, Prince released the 5-disc Crystal Ball CD set under the Symbol. The first 3 discs contained unreleased songs from the mid-1980s and the 1990s. This set also included the acoustic album,The Truth, as well as the orchestral, instrumental album Kamasutra.

#OnThisDay in 1985, Prince and the Revolution released Take Me With U as the fifth and final single from their album Purple Rain. The B-side for this single was Baby I’m A Star, another track from the album. The single peaked at #25 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

#OnThisDay in 1980, Prince released Why You Wanna Treat Me So Bad? as the second single from his sophomore, eponymous album Prince. The B-side for this single was Baby, a track from his debut album For You. The single peaked at #13 on the Billboard Hot Soul Singles chart.

#OnThisDay in 2002, Prince released NPG Music Club Edition #12. This contained the NPG “Ahdio” Show #11, Madrid 2 Chicago, Breathe, One Nite Alone…, U’re Gonna C Me, Here On Earth, and A Case Of U.

#OnThisDay in 1983, Prince released 1999 as a single in the UK. The B-sides for this release were How Come U Don’t Call Me Anymore and D.M.S.R. The single peaked at #25 on the Gallup Singles chart.

#OnThisDay in 1982, Prince released Let’s Work as the third single from his album Controversy. The B-side for this release was Gotta Stop (Messin’ About), an outtake from his previous album Dirty Mind. The single peaked at #9 on the Billboard Hot Soul Singles chart.

#OnThisDay in 2000, Prince released U Make My Sunshine as a single through the NPGOnlineLtd website. The B-side for this stand-alone single was When Will We B Paid?, a cover of the song by The Staple Singers. The single was made available on iTunes in 2011 and on Tidal in 2015.

#OnThisDay in 2005, Prince released Te Amo Corazón as a single. At the time of its release, it was not yet attached to his forthcoming album 3121. This CD single also included a DVD with the music video. The single peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot Singles Sales chart.

#OnThisDay in 1984, Prince and the Revolution released the 12” single for the song I Would Die 4 U. This contained an extended version of the song, as well as an extended version of the B-side Another Lonely Christmas. The single peaked at #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

#OnThisDay in 2002, the One Nite Alone… Live! 3-disc box set had its retail release. The first 2 discs contained live recordings from 9 different One Nite Alone… Tour shows, and the third contained The Aftershow: It Ain’t Over. This release did not chart on the Billboard 200.

#OnThisDay in 2015, Prince released his 39th studio album, HITNRUN Phase Two, exclusively on Tidal, prior to its digital and retail releases. This marked the final album release before Prince’s unexpected and untimely death in 2016. It peaked at #40 on the Billboard 200.

#OnThisDay in 1995, attendees of a Paisley Park concert were given a cassette single, which included two then-unreleased songs Slave and New World. Both tracks would later appear on the album, Emancipation, the following year.
