#KirtlandsWarbler is a fire-dependent bird species, nesting only in the new jack pines that grow following a burn. With most fires suppressed nowadays, the #endangered birds rely on human intervention to survive. My #gouache painting is titled ‘Prescribed Burn’. #conservation#birdart#animalart
