Gov Spanberger has directed Virginia’s state law enforcement agencies to end 287g agreements with ICE, saying the agreements "improperly cede accountability and discretion over VA law enforcement" to the feds.

The Virginia Senate has approved proposed constitutional amendments on reproductive rights, marriage equality, voting rights restoration and mid-decade redistricting powers.

Voters in the state will now have the final say, with a redistricting vote likely to occur this spring.

Walter Plecker, Virginia's first registrar for the Bureau of Vital Statistics, erased Indigenous people from records through the mid-1940s, leading to all but one of the 11 state-recognized tribes being unable to provide proof of continued existence since 1900 to the US Bureau of Indian Affairs.

The first time I met Eddie Harris was foolish. Charlottesville Tomorrow was reinventing itself, he had no idea who I was and he rightfully turned down a collaboration. But we kept showing up and working to prove worthiness. Charlottesville Inclusive Media would not have been possible without him.
