I'm excited to see Mattie Scott be nominated to the Police Commission by Mayor Lurie. She has been an impressive gun violence prevention leader in our city.

Supervisor Engardio has been an effective, pragmatic, and forward-looking representative for the Sunset in City Hall.

I am proud to stand with Supervisor Engardio against the recall. We need to move forward and build our best San Francisco.

President Trump's Executive Order targeting the Presidio Trust is misguided and clearly a politically-motivated attack on San Francisco and our values.

The President does not have the power to eliminate the Presidio Trust. We are a nation of laws, not kings.

San Francisco is already notorious for unsafe streets. It's concerning to see SFMTA consider cutting the school crossing guard program.

Gathering for worship is a core part of our Quaker faith. No matter who you are or how you come, you are an equal and a Friend.

The recent change in policy allowing ICE enforcement in places of worship is a violation of everyone's 1st Amendment rights.

Trump's new Executive Order attacking healthcare for transgender youth is wrong, dehumanizing, and diametrically opposed to medical best practice.

Trans kids and young adults deserve so much better.

Today, International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we recognize the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz and remember the mass killing of Jewish people and other minorities.

We must never forget. We must stand against hatred in all its forms.

The Trump Administration's recent announcement of rescinding policies to protect sensitive places, including schools, from ICE arrests has reasonably caused anxiety.

Last week, I had the chance to speak on a panel on youth participation in politics at the AALS Annual Meeting. Particularly as we see a new Administration begin, it is essential we incorporate young people into politics, public policy, and the law to build stronger communities.

It was a fun, joyful, and hope-filled experience to see my friend Supryia Ray be sworn into the Board of Education. I know that she will be a staunch advocate for students and will work tirelessly to improve SF’s public schools.

The scenes out of Los Angeles are devastating. My thoughts are with those impacted and our firefighters. Large wildfires are becoming more common and encroaching on residential areas more often.

The climate crisis is having real impacts on people's lives and livelihoods.

Mayor London Breed unexpectedly became our city’s leader in the middle of the night over 7 years ago. Since then she’s seen our city through a global pandemic, the Trump administration, a challenging economy, and more.

Thank you for your service, Mayor Breed.

4 years ago, we witnessed a violent mob descended on the Capitol to stop the certification of the 2020 election. We must not forget how close to overturning a democratic election they got.

Today, for the first time since 1/6/2021, the certification happened again. Peacefully. Without obstruction.

Jimmy Carter not only served our country as its 39th President, he served with a lifetime of public service and courageous moral leadership.

I never saw him as President, but I most certainly saw him in service to his neighbors and fellow Americans. May he Rest In Peace.

My heart breaks witnessing yet another mass shooting at a school in our country—this time in Madison, WI.

Once again, students going about their normal school day have become victims of gun violence because of perpetual inaction from our elected representatives. #EndGunViolence

It has been 12 years since the lives of 20 kids and 6 educators were stolen by gun violence at an elementary school in Newtown, CT.

We should honor their lives with action so it never happens again. It is time for a national assault weapons ban and universal background checks.
