Born on this day, 79 years ago, John Hurst.
A forward converted into a classy centre-back, he was a fantastic servant to the Toffees. A deserving recipient of the Dixie Dean award from EFCHS in 2019.
Our tributes to him:

On 5 February 1994, 18,821 watched the Toffees earn a 4-2 home defeat of Chelsea FC, with Brett Angell getting his only goal for the club.
An alarming dip in form (and results) from mid-March onwards led to the infamous match against Wimbledon at the conclusion of the season.

Today marks the 150th anniversary of the formation of the Football Association of Wales, all the more reason to post a picture of one of its first star players, goalkeeper Leigh Roose, declared MIA in France in 1916. Very proud, so I am, to be this wonderful man's biographer.

Wishing Mo Marley a very happy 59th birthday. She's the embodiment of NSNO. As a Leasowe/Everton player, Mo won cup and league honours before embarking on a successful coaching & management career. In 2025, she was one of the first five inductees to the @evertonwomen.bsky.social Hall of Fame.

Following our recent article about the story of Forever Everton (read it, here: efcheritagesociety.com/forever-ever...), what have been your favourite tunes played on Goodison Park match days, and are there are any tracks that we have missed a trick on by not having played regularly, so far?
