its a difficult topic but i think there's an interesting piece to be written about musicians who have been lost to hardware / modular infatuation. i can think of 5-10 artists that showed incredible promise circa 2020 that subsequently got really into hardware and started making less interesting work

at least we have the music but kind of a bummer that things are weird between a g cook and gfoty because i think he did some of his best work with her.

catching up on year0001 releases and there is not much competition for most exciting label at the moment. music from memory i guess but 'exciting' isn't exactly their bread and butter.
