I find it really disheartening that here in the Uk you can not see the same midwife throughout your pregnancy.

I think is something that needs to be improved. The lack of continuity of care is important for both patients and clinicians.
Continuity of care is associated with improved outcomes and a positive experience of maternity 🍼

In 2024, 61% of Maternity Survey respondents saw the same midwife at most or every antenatal check-up. That's up from 37% in 2019.

Ongoing issue: senior leaders undervalue experienced nurses’ role in patient safety and lack understanding of their impact.
Many experience nurses leave the NHS as their investment in nursing isn’t financially sustainable. See my article below and you will understand! #NursingWorkforce #NHSCrisis
"The UK’s nursing and midwifery workforce is increasingly inexperienced and facing deeply worrying shortages in important areas, with learning disability nursing numbers still lower than five years ago." - our Senior Fellow Billy Palmer responds to new NMC data.
Reforms of NHS don’t stand a chance unless recruitment is fixed, say top nurses
Number of registered nurses at record high in UK but workforce is ‘increasingly inexperienced’
