Do people value health gains for children more than adults?

In their study, De Silva et al. found strongest reactions were to children in pain; adolescents prioritised younger people, while parents often highlighted adults’ caregiving roles.

Pangestu et al. explored how adults value EQ-5D-Y-3L health states for themselves vs a 10-year-old child.

Child-perspective values lower for worse-than-dead & higher for better-than-dead. Differences linked to individual characteristics and attitudes.

🌍 New evidence on COVID-19’s lasting impact on quality of life.

Gidey et al. found pooled EQ-5D utility = 0.76 & EQ VAS = 70.8.

Pain/Discomfort (51%) & Anxiety/Depression (46%) most affected. Results show lower HRQoL across COVID-19 patients.

Exploring QoL through a new cultural lens 🔍

Zhang et al. tested the content validity of the EQ-HWB in China, using interviews to develop a QoL framework & compare it to that of the EQ-HWB.

Eight QoL themes emerged, which mostly aligned with EQ-HWB.

🧠 Exploring cognition bolt-ons in Japan

Igarashi et al. tested 3 EQ-5D-5L bolt-ons using cTTO data from 864 people.

🔎 Findings:
- Scaling factor model gave similar observed & predicted values
- No consistent performance difference between models
