In Balochistan, #Pakistan, 12-year-old Attiq had to leave school to help his Afghan refugee survive.

Now, thanks to an IRC Accelerated Learning Program funded by the European Union, he can study and dream of a safer future.

10-year-old Ruba just wants to go home.

During the past 2 years in Gaza, she’s lost her father, her family home and was wounded in a drone attack.

With support from the European Union, the IRC is providing psychosocial support to children like Ruba to help them process their experiences.

After two years of conflict, we warmly welcome the first phase of a peace plan for Gaza.

After 2 years of Israeli bombardment, the situation in Gaza is devastating: 90% displaced & the world’s highest number of child amputees per capita.

This can't go on.

We call for full humanitarian access, protection for children and an immediate ceasefire to save lives and free remaining hostages.

A decade ago, an image of the lifeless body of toddler Aylan Kurdi became a symbol of the many lives tragically lost in the Med in search of safety.

On 10th July 2025, the EU and Israel struck a deal to allow 'substantial' humanitarian aid into Gaza.

The IRC and partners are tracking the state of implementation of this deal.

Recent reports of children in Gaza being killed while waiting for nutritional supplements and drinking water are horrifying. The reckless killing of children is plainly illegal.

We call on all parties to the conflict to uphold international humanitarian law and protect children’s lives.

The proposal to create a €200bn EU external action budget could be cause for optimism.

But the merger of external action instruments must be managed carefully, or people in the world’s most fragile countries risk being hit hardest.
