lowkenuinely hard agree with this, I'd rather we have more animations like eve underdog mv/zutomayo cream mv or hyuns dojo-esque animated collabs be the selling point of indie animation than pilots, since they especially let animators shine with their own styles

yeah, they didn't need it. alan has maintained his studio without finance from an existing corporation (arguably more impressive than maintaining creative rights under a corporate deal). but if he wanted to, even in 2018, he could easily partner with a professional studio

when hazbin hotel was released, alan becker was consistently garnering hundreds of millions of views. in terms of business operations, yeah vivzie pioneered there, but if indie animation was already considered 100 million views worthy in 2017, it's essentially mainstream.

yeah and like, animator vs animation is right fucking there. it's amongst the most popular newgrounds animation, and if you've been on the web for atleast 7 years, no chance you haven't heard about it. it's had far too much impact to not be considered amongst even glitch as a cornerstone indie show.
