Today, HUD officials posted divisive political messages on their website.

There are laws in place to keep federal agencies nonpartisan.

This is not just unAmerican – it’s unlawful. That’s why we’ve launched an investigation.

Really proud of this! I wrote a proposal for the @rooseveltinstitute.org about how to design a universal system for child care, after school, and summer.

In my latest newsletter, I talk about what it would look like, how it would work, and the potential it holds.

Agencies within the Trump administration have flagged hundreds of words to limit or avoid, according to a compilation of government documents. These terms appeared in government memos, in official and unofficial agency guidance and in other documents. www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

Wondering where these "climate risk" scores come from? Zillow is relying on models from First Street. When my colleagues @bloomberg.com compared FS predictions to another popular option this year, the outcomes were "startlingly different."

Honolulu CivilBeat's Nick Grube, in partnership with ProPublica, has been speaking to people displaced from their homes on Maui, investigating how one of the most expensive rental markets was made worse by both the fires and the aid programs that followed.

This is Peter Sunday’s story:
Maui Residents Have Been Evicted as Landlords Look to Profit Off Wildfire Crisis
One year ago this month, the Lahaina wildfire in Maui killed more than 100 people, destroyed over 2,200 structures and displaced nearly 13,000 residents, the police said. Soon after the blaze, Hawaii Gov. Josh Green and his lieutenant governor signed a series of emergency proclamations barring landlords on Maui from evicting tenants or raising rents in most cases. Despite that, some Maui property owners have capitalized on the crisis by pushing out tenants so they can house wildfire survivors for a lot more money.
