Far right folks on Twitter turning on themselves isn’t just a reminder that they are only defined by who they hate. It’s also a reminder that those who think they can ally with the far right and survive don’t realize that they’re just next in line.

No group is safe, especially “allied” minorities.

Saga is one of my favorite graphic novel series of all time, written by one of my favorite authors of all time, Brian K. Vaughan. So good!

Generative AI is contributing to the death of expertise. 1. the tech itself discourages building foundational skills and plagiarizes specialized labor.

2. Use is not expertise. Too many “experts” just explain how to use the tech, stapling on words like “critical” and “literacy” #AIResistance
Suppose we had a chat with the hashtag #AIResistance, I would imagine a good first questions would be Q: "Why have you chosen to resist/refuse GenAI tools in your classroom?"

A: Besides the ethical, environmental, & privacy concerns, I guess my resistance is rooted in one ethos: AUTHENTICITY. 1/
Here is the growing "AI Resisters/Refusers in Academia" starter pack!

If you are a resister/refuser & wish to be added to this list, please respond w/ a 👍🏽 or a ✔, and I'll add you in.

Please share with friends & colleagues interested in learning more about the AI resistance!

“liberals succeeded in some ways and failed in others” is certainly not the most satisfying analysis but it has the advantage of being true and supported by the actual evidence

in american politics as it actually unfolded from 2017 onwards, the opposition to trump was rooted in a large popular mobilization that occurred along with an attempt to use the law. and if anything, the consistent criticism was that legal elites were being *too cautious*

I straight up think it is dishonest to make this claim without noting that a) the mobilization against the Muslim ban involved a thousands of actual people flooding airports and b) coincided with a massive mobilization of people on the ground in Washington D.C.

the idea here is that it isn’t a wishlist of the stuff i would change but amendments of things that are clearly not working or simply do not work. maybe a would be 5) lower removal threshold to a simple majority but require three such votes spaced out over time.
