Happy #OpenAccessWeek to all who celebrate

Is it time we bring back #FunFridays and share the more whimsical side of #OpenAccess publishing news? My entry this week is the OA journals card game created by librarians at @leedsbeckett.bsky.social
If only they had an #OpenAccessBooks version 🤔https://eprints.leedsbeckett.ac.uk/id/eprint/12035/

Mega pumped to share @bloomsburyacad.bsky.social has surpassed 500 #openaccess books! Bring on the next milestone 🔓

Mega chuffed that I am now able to share that the Bloomsbury Open Collections subscribe-to-open #OpenAccess model will add 24 new open access titles throughout the year, at no cost to the authors

📣 Any writers over 50 out there looking for somewhere to submit their work? (And anyone of any age who enjoys reading short stories and flash fiction should take a look at Issue 2)

Great to see this milestone in #OABooks!
We've reached 40,000 #OAbooks in the OAPEN Library! 🥳

The transition to #openaccess for books is far from complete, but this milestone is proof great things are happening because of passionate people who want to see knowledge open to all 🙌

Nicko Goncharoff and Elliott Lumb used fun interactive approach to a complex and concerning topic - the future of research integrity. In amongst the many many AI responses from #R2RConf were a few other ideas including funding, and disinformation culture

This morning @ronaldsnijder.bsky.social gave a lightning talk at @r2rconf.bsky.social on 'Bibliodiversity and Open Access
Book Platforms'.

Did you know the OAPEN Library has titles in 75+ languages? library.oapen.org/browse?type=...

Tell us your thoughts on language & bibliodiversity #OAbooks

Bracing myself for a spicy debate at #R2RConf: Scholarly publishers are no longer necessary 👀😬

Interesting lightning talk from @ronaldsnijder.bsky.social to kick off the break at day 2 of #R2RConf. Two case studies of bibliodiversity in OA books: print language and subject area. Definitely some food for thought on what and why some languages dominate OA publishing

Happy to let my open books bias come through as I listen to @kirahopkins.bsky.social and Rose Harris-Birtill present a case study on OLH and OA collective funding of humanities books. Love the @bloomsburyacad.bsky.social Bloomsbury Open Collections shout out too #R2RConf

Session 2 at #R2RConf discusses open science and open data policies. Dr Beth Montague-Hellen argues policy may not be as effective as clear specific guidance from publishers, institutions, and funders

First panel of #R2RConf explores how to engage policy makers with research. Elevator pitches and short form publications are the most digestible and accessible formats, but what does this mean for monographs?

Thought provoking keynote from Prof John Willinsky on ethics and integrity in scholarly publishing and open source research to kick us off at #R2RConf

Looking forward to Day 1 of the #r2rconf
