Brick by Brick—Help Us Complete the COCE Library! - GlobalGiving
Dear Friends, We are so close! The walls of the COCE Kenya Library stand tall, a beacon of hope and learning, is tantalizingly close to completion. From March 25-28, GlobalGiving's Little by Little campaign offers an incredible opportunity to double your impact. Every donation up to $50 will be matched at 50%, stretching your generosity even further. This is our chance to finish the plumbing, electrical work, painting, and furnishing – the final steps to open our library's doors. We know we've asked before, and we are deeply grateful for your generosity. We can now imagine the faces of children discovering new worlds through books, of elders sharing wisdom in a communal space, of teachers accessing resources to enrich their lessons. This library isn't just a building; it's the key to unlocking potential, fostering dreams, and building a brighter future for an entire community Your contribution, no matter the size, will write a new chapter in Busia's story. Let's turn the page together and create a legacy of learning that will impact generations to come. Make your mark on Busia's future. Donate now and help us write the final chapter of our library's journey. Together, we can open doors to endless possibilities.

Pete Buttigieg breaks down DEI for everyday folks…

“The opposite of diversity is uniformity. The opposite of equity is inequity. The opposite of inclusion is exclusion.” @petebuttigieg.bsky.social

Our problem: too many value uniformity over inclusion and they’re the ones running the government.

What does blind loyalty do to a soul that's internally conflicted yet refuses to hear dissenting voices? Is this vulnerability or courage?

As we grapple with rapid changes and shifting policy priorities, it's easy to feel overwhelmed. Yet, I remain hopeful. For in the intricate tapestry of life, even as threads seem to unravel, they will ultimately weave together again – but only if we, the collective wisdom of the crowd, will it.

Behind every statistic, there's a face. A life. A family. Colleagues in SSA are on edge, fearing potential cuts in ART funding. The ripple effect? Devastating. The CDC and WHO's coordination is crucial, but no more!

As we strive for virtue, let's confront the shadows within: selfishness, greed, and hatred. They whisper sweet nothings, justifying the unjustifiable. Why else would we deprive the poor of life-saving HIV medication, or strip healthcare from the vulnerable, only to lavish tax cuts on the privileged?

Can anyone illuminate the darkness of my cognitive dissonance, and explain why those who have risen to positions of influence and respect often succumb to the lure of self-preservation, abandoning the higher ideals that once guided them? #perplexed

In the depths of chaos, reality unravels, and truths are thrust into uncertainty's crucible. Yet, within this fiery trial, we're tempered, transformed, and reborn – our purpose, community, and resilience forged anew, like steel in a wildfire.
