為什麼我的Spotify 低迴音樂歌單突然都不夠低迴了?

找不到夠安靜的歌,於是乾脆打開Metal

Why does my chill Spotify playlist suddenly sound too awake?

Couldn’t find anything quiet enough… so I just turned on Metal.

Writing separately, but, I'd like to share a brief honest reflection on the experience of writing our paper on climate change health impact attribution, which is to date probably the hardest and most frustrating project of 100+ I've published in 15 years as a scientist.

There are historical cases, going back hundreds or thousands of years, of humans reacting quickly to climate change. And then there is the current case of humans both causing the climate change and refusing to react to it.

At a time when many social-media sites have abandoned their safeguards against mis- and disinformation, Wikipedia is a bastion of transparency and accessible knowledge. So maybe it should come as no surprise that Elon Musk has been attacking it.
Elon Musk Also Has a Problem with Wikipedia
Lately, Musk’s beef has merged with a general conviction on the right that the site is biased against conservatives.

A balanced argument doesn’t weigh two sides equally. It weighs the strongest evidence more heavily.

Critical thinking isn't about representing every view. It's about recognizing your biases, and giving serious consideration to facts that contradict your hopes and beliefs.

Criticizing is fast and easy. Creating is slow and difficult.

The two hours you spent on a book or movie took someone two years to produce.

Anyone can tear down someone else's work. The true test of insight is whether you can help them improve it or build something of your own.

因此將《自主世界:雲端封建時代的安那其法則》(Autnonous World)中文版譯序刊在 Matters 上——「那些最聰明的人在周末自己跑去做的事情,十年之內就會變成其他人上班得做的事。」

New research finds Britain is a “world-leader” in legal crackdown on climate & environmental activism.

UK police are arresting protesters at 3 x average global rate.

Rather than tackling issues provoking such protest, the state’s focus is on punishing dissent.

My new favorite word: sonder.

It's the profound awareness that every person you encounter has experienced a lifetime of hopes, fears, loves, and heartaches that you'll never know.

Each moment of sonder is a reminder to appreciate how little we truly grasp about others' lives.
