Update: We're going to Lisbon in November!

Kudos to Daniel for stepping up 🫡
@websummit.bsky.social why is it so difficult to partner with you?

I've been trying since November to reserve a large booth for the next summit in Lisbon.

After a month with no response, I was told 2026 was fully booked, so I agreed to discuss options for 2027.

Another month has gone by.

I was convinced I could launch Kibo's MVP during the holiday season of 2021 and again in 2022.

After failing to even figure out why the site would break after each deployment, I gave up, twice.

My mother was an elementary school teacher.

My father spent his life in the military and kept working after retirement to make ends meet.

Both my brother and I became successful entrepreneurs.

Him in travel & tourism, me in SaaS.

Passing that same hunger to our kids will be the hardest part.

Efficiency routine hack:

If you have a few mins to spare, don't think about how to kill time.

Think of what you can get done in those minutes.

It can be as simple as replying to an email.

Works the same when you're heading somewhere.

Think of errands you can knock out on the way.

And this is why Europe (EU) will never, ever flourish in tech.

Nonetheless, after spending my weekend and $700+, we're now compliant with this new potential customer.

Keyword: potential customer.

In 2022, I offered two people key roles at Publer

- Head of Product

- Head of Development

Both roles were highly paid and included an option to buy 3% equity after 3 years, priced at the valuation at the time.

That 3% was valued at $75K in 2022.

It's now worth $500K.

Take chances, people!

1M+ downloads ✅

5M+ downloads ⌛️

Got to love setting goals and reaching them.
50K+ downloads on Google Play!

I expect to reach 1M+ downloads in the next few months.

No ads. No promotions.

Just simple, organic, growth-hacking efforts.

Can you guess what we're pulling off?

We're uploading over 200K new media files to S3.

On a daily basis!

At this rate, I need to consider having our own data center.

Why the name Kibo?

In the late 80s and early 90s, a computer code enthusiast and graphic designer called James Parry became an early internet personality on Usenet, the online discussion network of the time.

In high school, I developed a nasty addiction: gambling.

There were many days I had to stop by a slot machine before going home from school.

Weekends? Glued to Livescore, checking the results of the games I've bet on. I even placed bets on dog races.

Moving to the US made it worse.

Tip of the day: Copy your mongo logs, paste to ChatGPT, and it will tell you exactly what indexes you may be missing or need improvement.

And always bring your laptop with you when out of town!

I've "waited" 7 years for this moment.

2019: The initial idea was born

2020: The first development work began

2021: Pulled the plug as I was still too young to run a product, let alone two

2022: Focused entirely on growing Publer

2023: Overhired, the Elon Musk X API saga, and a $140K loss

An SEO mistake we made last year.

In an effort to boost our mobile app installs, we created dedicated landing pages for users visiting our website from their mobile.

It worked. App installs increased. Everything looked good on paper.

Until search results hit us.

This has got to be one of the worst UI/UX designs ever.

Why does the sidebar close when you open the chat on X?
