The US would criticize China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) for being extractive- e.g. taking revenue from ports of countries it invested in-how is that different from what is currently being demanded from Ukraine to sign over its minerals??? What a fall from any potential high moral ground!!!

Do the geniuses in power not realize that the social safety net Americans rely on enables spending and borrowing, powering the economy and its growth. It’s an economic circle, stupid! If people hold on to savings to look out for themselves in times of need, growth and hiring will sputter! Own goal?
