I thought I was taking a strength and cardio class. It turned out to be step aerobics. I got my ass kicked by people in their 60s and 70s. Holy crap, that’s hard and humbling :-)

Alpine ski report - we got a few inches of snow last night but it’s cold and icy today. It’s still nice to be out, but we are fair weather skiers so we are bailing after 3 hours on the hill.

New way to get bags and groceries up and down from the house in Tahoe (vs a very long staircase). Next step is to put it on an electric winch.

Great day of skiing at Palisades with Shannon and Juris. Sunny, spring like conditions. A bit icy, but generally fine on the groomers. No snow in the 10 day forecast so cross your fingers for a big February.

On Bluesky, it seems like there are no ads, which is a huge difference from other platforms. it's also cool that you can click on this tab and only see posts by the people and things you follow - no algorithm guessing at other content that you might be interested in.

Snow report from Palisades - blue skies, light wind and east coast style ice. Definitely stay on the groomers.You can see some dirt patches trying to peek through. We bailed when the sun went behind the mountain. Alpine was better yesterday. We really need snow.

Did you know you are supposed to change your smoke detectors ever 10 years (not just the battery)? I just swapped out all 7 of ours. It’s not as simple as just plugging in new ones. You have to change the mounting place and wire harness, which is dumb, but it’s pretty easy.

It’s your choice if you want to use anonymous name / photo on blue sky, but it’s kind of annoying when someone follows/comments and I have no idea who they are. If you want to put your real name on Blue Sky, click on your profile, then hit edit, then put your name/photo/abstract in.
