In October, statewide news reported that a sheriff's deputy in Texas searched thousands of Flock cameras in Washington for 'Had an abortion, search for female.’ New documents obtained by RANGE show Spokane County Sheriff's Office cameras were accessed in that search:

twice a year the entire U.S. press becomes a marketing extension of a single billionaire-owned retailer, and nobody in any position of editorial power thinks it's weird or gross

The 1912 article gets rolled out a lot but it’s my solemn duty as a historian to remind folks it’s *worse* than that

Eunice Foote published greenhouse gas studies in EIGHTEEN-FUCKING-FIFTY-SIX (of course, as a woman she couldn’t read her OWN paper at scientific conferences - god FORBID 🙄)

If you still use Twitter, at least use it in a way that filters ads/trackers so you're not funding Elon
If you can't delete Twitter, at least browse it with Nitter - a private alternative front end for it that strips out ads and tracking OR use Control Panel for Twitter which does the same thing but also gives you lots more control over the experience. Lemme know if you need help!
