Attorney, libertarian.

“You won't find liberty at the end of a lie."
It is a grave danger to the privileges and immunities of all citizens, and by extension their individual rights, for the definition of citizenship to be wrested from the broad protections of the Constitution to become a political issue for the President and Congress.
President Trump's birthright citizenship executive order doesn't just apply to children born to undocumented immigrants. Children could be denied citizenship even if their parents are here completely legally.

All ideologies can employ the tactics and ethics of populism: right, left, authoritarian or libertarian. The recent exposure of the ugliest side of populism, justifying murder of their political opponents, is available to all forms of populism. Populism isn't principled. It is a political mob.

Very cool.
Fishing some 5,300 years ago: a Neolithic fishhook made of wild boar tusk, wrapped with a fishing line. The size of the fishhook is 6.5 cm. It was used to catch pikes.

Found in the lake-dwelling settlement of Arbon Bleiche 3, Switzerland.

The number of people willing to use this health insurance executive's death as a political barb/statement is disgusting. I'm reminded about just how hard it can be to learn enough from a job prospect by asking questions, yet on social media you can really see people for what they are.

Martial law declared in S. Korea over a budget crisis. The French gov't may fall over a budget crisis. Maybe we should reject deficit spending at record levels in the U.S. A whole generation of politicians have known nothing but massive deficit spending as their resting pulse and it is bipartisan.

Remember that much of the iconography and style of high fantasy is in the end, derivative. We've been where we are seeking.
Back at Kilpeck Church, Herefordshire.

Pevsner described the decoration as ‘sumptuous.’

Honestly one of the most remarkable things I’ve laid eyes on.

Many libertarians were justifiably upset by executive overreach through the abuse of emergency powers during the lockdown response to covid. Many of those same libertarians will now conveniently ignore Trump abusing emergency powers: you can bank on it.

Let the rationalizations begin...

The inevitable result of a tax and spend government philosophy is that they frontload the spending and budgeted future spending and then cry poor to justify more taxes. Buckle up Maryland, even higher taxes are on their way. Spending is the problem.
