On a completely different note: do you put your holiday decorations in the same place each year or mix it up? 🎄🕯️

Fun holiday weekend morning waiting on Roto-Rooter

We don't have the energy to leave the house tonight. Old fashioned on the couch is all I can muster.

Some people shop on Black Friday. But I'd wager a lot of S. Louisiana is making stock instead.

Debating a plate of leftovers vs. another slice of pie because the Thanksgiving meal was hours ago.

Usually Chicory hides when we have company or host holidays, but today there were 8 around the table, and he realized he could get so many pets in such a small area. He was a social little guy! 😺🥰

Family departed, dishes done, champagne poured, and turned on the game. 🐏 Let's go Heels!

The house is as put together as it can be for 2.5 weeks post move. Thankful for a dining room that can comfortably fit everyone today. The old house was really tight with a leaf in the table.

Today seems like a good day to do our awful, but required IT security training.

Tonight's diy misadventures - my husband attempts to level a not square antique piece of furniture in a not square antique house.

Oh fun. USPS notified me that they left a package in the mailbox, but they really just tossed it over the fence. Good thing that item wasn't breakable. Also, what happened to just ringing the damn doorbell?!

Just returned from the grocery to a toilet tank on the hallway floor and a "it will only take a few hours" dishwasher installation on day two and still not done. My patience is waning.

Our dishwasher delivery window was 7:30-11:30am. They arrived just before 8, were pleasant and efficient, and now we can go about our day. Honestly so impressed!

B's house is now up for sale. Great place for young families or those wanting a quieter neighborhood environment. Easy walk to Wisner path/Bayou. www.realtor.com/realestatean...

Much of my life, I have wrestled with the fact that I'm pretty good at a number of things that I do not enjoy doing at all. Supervising staff is one of those things, and I am loathing every part of it right now. Can this break get here already?

Random question: Anyone have a good resource (local or online) for good quality, reasonably priced cabinet hardware?

Since we are still unpacking, we decided to make things a little easier on ourselves for hosting Thanksgiving this year. Popeye's cajun turkey has been confirmed. 🍗

So much unpacking to do but someone is really comfortable.

Counting down the hours to the end of this work week so I can really dig into a full weekend of unpacking and getting this house feeling more like home.

As promised, Seymour is on duty this morning.

Went to ABC on my lunch break to update the DL, and the whole state system went down as soon as I sat in the chair. 😞

The cat did not wake us up crying at 6 am! He's finally showing signs of settling in to the new house. 😺

After some DIY repairs by B and restacking by both of us (oof!), our washer-dryer from the old house are now up and running in the new house. Thank goodness as the piles of things needing to be washed was growing rapidly.
