Is it me or is the Claude Artifacts launch a next step in making anyone an app developer? (note to low-code and no-code platforms - I love you but you're still for people who can handle a steeper learning curve).

Guess ChatGPT can write in the image. And can remind me that we've been through the brain rot scare before (not that it's wrong, it's just not new). Note, it can write in the image, but it still needs work on icon and design matching to the words.

Creepy factor aside (and you were nervous about Alexa "listening") the types of data and analysis we might be able to do as a result of physical AI is fascinating.

Local news has high trust and demand but can be too costly. Maybe not investigative reporting but can generative AI "reporters" report on live events? They can listen and report. Just like your video meeting summaries. www.niemanlab.org/2025/03/loca...
Local newsrooms are using AI to listen in on public meetings
Chalkbeat and Midcoast Villager have already published stories with sources and leads pulled from AI transcriptions.

"But I would be willing to bet that in less than a decade you’ll come to trust the output of some bot more than the tendentious efforts of some partial reporter. Or for that matter the cynical musings of a jaded columnist." via @wsj.com www.wsj.com/opinion/just...
Opinion | Just When We Need Them, the Media’s Credibility Hits Bottom
Journalists harrumph at Trump’s actions, but no one cares anymore. I say that with no satisfaction.

Political campaigns are often strong examples of data-driven, business-impact communications campaigns. Good take from the WSJ on Trump's campaign using IDs for targeting - just replace with a brand campaign and major data platform (eg, Omnicom's Omni 3.0). www.wsj.com/opinion/the-...
Opinion | 2024 Was the ‘Device ID’ Election
The Trump campaign aimed streaming ads with precise messages at swayable voters.

Good take as to how the combination of ego and self-interest prevent changes in more traditional (i.e., been around a while) media, despite continued fall in trust and audience. Tx @jonahg.bsky.social www.latimes.com/opinion/stor...
Column: Why the American media and their critics won't stop telling the same lie
As public opinion of Donald Trump, climate change and more show, the press is not as important as journalists and their detractors claim, especially now.

Just a friendly reminder to all nervous about GenAI - today's apps are simply a stopgap until we merge our brains with computers (this isn't new - just a reminder as to where things may be heading). www.media.mit.edu/projects/alt...

A reasonable explanation of the cause of so much chaos.
You all realize everything has been going wrong since Bowie died, right? We lost Bowie in January 2016, and what's happened since then? Brexit. Trump. Wildfires. COVID-19. Elon buying Twitter. The new Space Jam film. Bowie's death was the beginning of the end. He was the glue holding it all together

Industry media is not just moving over but cutting ties.
@provokemedia.bsky.social is our new PRovokeMedia account on here. We will be off the other site soon.

It makes no sense for anyone connected to the PR business--which relies on credible, fact-based information channels--to be supporting a platform that elevates disinformation and destroys trust.

Will get posting soon. For now, watching the stream of news media shifting over to BlueSky (and this platform seems to be doing a nice job of welcoming them).
