It was pretty special being at the launch event in only my second week of working at #EUMETSAT. I'm very excited to get stuck into flying this magnificent spacecraft! #MetopSGA1
We're still buzzing after the successful launch of #MetopSGA1! 🛰️
Thanks to all of our partners for the years of work that got us here. 🥳
Stay tuned for news of the Launch & Early Operations Phase - below more images of the satellite's incredible journey to space! 🌍💫

Goodbye @operations.esa.int! After nearly 20 years working at #ESOC it's time for me to move on to a new challenge. So many memories in this control room. Safe mode recovery on Mars Express, end of mission on Venus Express, getting Solar Orbiter to the sun, getting Hera past Mars...

Again #NASA's #Voyager shows us how good spacecraft operations makes all the difference to mission success - the ability to go back and re-examine a problem. Flexibility and ingenuity at billion-mile distance. Brilliant. Well done #JPL!

The mission team wanted to fix the thrusters, deemed unusable decades ago, before the radio antenna that sends commands to the probe went offline for upgrades.

Career highlight! Dr Brian May came to visit us at @operations.esa.int while we awaited the signal from #HeraMission after the Mars Swingby, then disappeared to start working on the Mars and Deimos images with the other science teams. Looking forward to seeing the results during the press release!

The #HeraMission #dinosaurs are earning their keep!
Honorary members of the Hera Flight Control Team, Grr and Brontë, are carefully monitoring the spacecraft's telemetry today as we count down to the Mars flyby. Join us live at 11:50 CET on 13 March as we present Hera's images of Mars together with some special guests!

This is going to be excellent, make sure to tune in! I've seen some simulations of what the pictures might look like and it's going to be stunning.
This Wednesday our Hera asteroid mission flies past Mars & its Deimos moon. On Thursday join our star-studded webcast - featuring ESA astronaut Alexander Gerst, SF author @andyweirauthor1.bsky.social & a surprise special guest - to see the images Hera returns to Earth! www.esa.int/Space_Safety...

Good luck to my ESOC colleagues for the @ec.europa.eu #Sentinel1c launch tonight!
#VV25 good news

The mission, which is the launch of #Sentinel1C & simultaneously the return-to-flight for Vega-C, is going ahead on the 4th.

The delay, due to additional pre-launch checks, is only 24 hours.

Was:

Calling #Amiga experts! Weird graphics glitches on my A1000. The corruption moves with the window, makes me think not the memory chips. Suggestions welcome!

Hey @bsky.app do we like #cats here as much as at the other place? If so, Sparkle Cat says "Hi!"

If not, he still says "Hi!" anyway, as he's a Good Boy.

Got "my son" a 3D printer - other than endless dinosaurs, what should I print? Spacecraft models? Something for my unhealthily large collection of vintage Amiga computers? Cat toys?
