Finished up my “M is for ____” baby quilt for a newborn in the family. Drew out and paperpieced her full name hidden in a floral vintage sheet that made up the back-M is for her nickname. She is so precious. Making for kiddos is the best. Hope it gets used until falling apart. ❤️

Catherine Legrand’s new book, “Patchwork: A World Tour,” sets out on an ambitious journey, taking us around the globe to spotlight patchwork art and artists. The text itself, however, does not capture all the vibrating magic of its images.
Mapping Patchwork Across the Globe
Catherine Legrand’s Patchwork: A World Tour is an important step towards finally giving this art form the appreciation it deserves.

The state of the national scene is so depressing right now, trying to find joy in sewing. Making a baby quilt out of an old sheet and fabric scraps. The bay’s name Filomena is spelled hidden in the back and Improv Ms for her nickname Mena on the front.

The world has been heavy. To honor my friend Laura Hartrich and her daughter Persephone, I made some improv quilt blocks and a ghostwriter made a written pattern. Find instructions on my website/blog: entropyalwayswinsblog.com/blog/ #flowersforpersephone

There is a strange gratitude I feel for the immediacies of dayjob. It’s easy to forget our current national emergency when without hyperbole lives are on the line. If u haven’t seen the series The Pitt , I strongly recommend it. It is the closest truth to my dayjob

For anyone looking for a fun creative distraction, the pattern for one of my latest quilts is in Quiltcon Magazine 2025 (seen here on the cover). It’s a fun way to play with my inset strip technique. Digital copies available: www.quiltingdaily.com/product-cate...

I LOVE vintage fabric from the 1970s. Today I took out my “The Pinewood” print by Ronald Hansen-Denmark, 1970s. Hard to tell from the pic but it dark green and reaches floor to ceiling in my studio.

A deal for my fellow design geeks. I have a piece of this Nippon print by Chiqui Mattson exhibited in Japan and Sweden. Almedahls Home has reprints in beige and this red for a steal. almedahlshome.com/en/outlet/ni...

Needle and thread are how we who sew write our stories. Hours of thoughts, hopes and fears reside in each piece we make.
