Grateful to Barry Michael Cole, author of One Hundred Pearls, for inspiring us at Ernest & Hadley and for giving voice to the silenced histories of Tannehill.

His words remind us that remembering with compassion keeps these stories alive.

Today, we take a moment to remember our friend, Donald Brown (1936-2025), who's career in North and West Alabama journalism spanned over 50 years.

Journalist, editor, novelist, teacher, friend. We will miss our pal and send our condolences to his lovely wife, Hannah, and their family.
