This post is a really insightful look into what oils are both "bad" and "good"!

I found this link very interesting! With there being so many new emerging cooking oils it can be difficult to differentiate between which are better options.
This relates to our previous topic regarding misinformation and media exaggeration. It also relates to this week’s topic which explains that fats aren’t as bad as they are made to be. Saturated & trans fats are the ones to be aware of. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

This week I found it very interesting to learn that fats are essential for growth, especially because a lot of the time there is a negative connotation surrounding fats in terms of diets. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

This seems very informative and makes me feel more interested in further researching. I chose to repost this specifically because although it seems informative, we can't determine what research is available to prove the validity of the information shown below which could be a red flag. #beh353

I completely agree! I've caught myself being a little too trusting of sources just because of how they word their information or where the information is coming from. Fact checking is always the safest route to take when evaluating resources.
When reading nutrition resources I will evaluate press release claims (popular press) attached to the study. I believe that most journalists are likely to change scientific findings/report to better fit their desired narrative. Fact checking is essential for learning.

When evaluating nutrition sources I will be extra cautious of studies or articles that allude to causation or correlations between things without proper evidence. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

Hello! I'm Emylee Montanez, a third year dental hygiene major. I am taking this course as an elective, and am most curious about the effectiveness of multivitamins. The word I associate with healthy eating is mindful. My favorite food is skirt steak or birria tacos.
