I first played this 1997 video game in 2022. It completely revived my faith in the thought that "old games are better" not just being nostalgia talking.
I can't recommend it enough, the kind of game that never drops the ball. Its only weakness is being a hallway, but its a damn nice hallway.

The Amiga port of R-Type was at the time the closest you could get to the arcade version at home, graphically speaking... But the music suffered greatly.
This music only plays on the title, port credits and high scores, but you're free to sit through that and listen to it for as long as you like.

I hope people can become familiar with the concept of not putting all faith into a single service/platform again. It was ten years ago that Skype became inconvenient so people switched from using it. Even further back people manually opted to download and use other browsers than Internet Explorer.
