Mega Man. Digimon. Smash Bros. These were the ingredients chosen to create the perfect manchild. But God added an extra ingredient to the concoction: autism.
to clarify, when I say "hordes of generic monsters", I mean "scripted sequences where time passed determines progression and not the number of bodies you drop".

The fact that they spent probably 4 years on this title and felt the need to reuse enemy assets to this degree is a little embarrassing.
Robot part collecting is just an even less interesting artifact hunt. Very cool mechanics go wildly underused. The majority of enemy encounters are hordes of generic monsters - otherwise most areas are walking sims

For no reason the decision was made to lock 100% behind farming drops... in Metroid.
Alright the new facts are presented and this game is mad scuffed:

Two boss fights feel like they were entirely based around the accurate tracking you'd need the mouse/gyro controls for.

Ran into a bug where the scripted event didn't happen and I just had to kill myself.

It's not a "bad" game, especially not due to the cast of dipshit space marines. Its not a "good" game in terms of feeling like a rewarding test of skill.

Its an unintentionally funny puzzle adventure game that happens to star Samus. Very little about it feels Metroid.

Suit never stops being ugly.
In typical fashion nothing about this game can live up to the experience of Prime 1. This has been the case for three mainline games at this point. Prime 1, one would logically conclude, must have been an accident.

It's sad to think that Prime 3 must have really been what they wanted all along.

I had high hopes that since they remastered the 1st, they'd try to live up to it in some fashion, but they only lived up to the graphics (and kinda fumbled the "technology" that made 1 so impressive)

It still has plenty of time to fuck up though so I'll update my opinion as new facts are presented.

Basically the preemptive hate for the game was overblown as preemptive hate almost always tends to be.

It's not the kind of game that I'll want to go back and play again when I'm done, which is a very Prime series problem to have outside of the 1st. But this isn't really unexpected given 2 and 3.

Mega Man has always had subtitles in its sequels... in Japanese. Rockman 2: The Mystery of Dr. Wily, Rockman 8: Metal Heroes, etc.

Dual Override is fine as a subtitle, but they're out of their mind if they think I'm not calling it Mega Man 12.
I'm mad that it isn't called Mega Man 12, are they stupid?

things you can do this evening instead of watching the game awards (giving them ad revenue and viewership):
cook dinner
exercise
go drinking
stay at home and drink
smoke something
sleep
die

just don't watch that shit

holy moly
In the Forest Secret Area in Super Mario World, there are three 1-Ups after the goal that seem impossible to collect without flying, as walking through the goal destroys them. However, there is an extremely simple trick to get them every time: simply press L before touching the goal.

idk who needs to hear this but it's gift card season and all... so as a reminder, Lowes and Home Depot set up automatic license plate readers at every entrance to their parking lots and they funnel that information directly to the feds regardless of trivial ideas like "the 4th amendment"

Tintin leans into the frame and says, “Captain, it’s Wednesday.”

Mario Party contains an obscure "underwhelming victory" scenario. Normally, the winner is celebrated with a special cutscene and declared Superstar. However, if no stars were obtained, no cutscene plays and all the winner gets is text saying "YOU ARE WINNER" before the game ends.

But it's not like it forces you to stop having "fun", or that the gentle reminder call is even obtrusive - it's at the bottom of the screen and I don't know if it's voiced (if it is, turning off voice acting was the play of the century), you can just ignore it and go be Mach Rider.

Its obnoxious to be dicking around in the huge desert (which is worthless and bad, to be fair!) only to get called and reminded what location you should be going to every 10 minutes. I'm trying to enjoy the "open world" you shoehorned into this game, why tell me to stop and go progress the plot?

There was a lot of strife regarding the additional characters but overall the game doesn't suffer from it - a lot of this might be that I turned off voice acting upon seeing the option.

The real problem isn't the implementation of these systems but that they exist at all, which is an industry thing

Just to clarify, I mean this in the least derogatory way possible. There's an air of complete nonsense to the plot that feels out of place compared to previous entries, even Prime 2's ridiculous setting.

Every item being the "Psychic" version of a previous item is such unintentional comedy.
