What a wonderful and inspiring evening, welcoming the Serbian student runners in Brussels after the 1933km they crossed by foot. The movement is going strong, and is inviting the EU to be its ally on their quest for democracy and justice. 🇷🇸💪⛽️

If you're generally a bit mystified about the European Democracy Shield, look no further for some clarity! It's been a pleasure coordinating 50 CSOs, resulting in this joint input with recommendations for the Shield. Democracy is under threat, so let's protect it properly.

This comes a couple of days after @amnestyuk.bsky.social revealed the use of spyware against Serbian environmental and civic activists. Very clear which side the European Commission and certain member states are taking here.
The EPP cabal to save Vučić's skin is in full swing: von der Leyen, Nehammer, Mitsotakis. They're siding with the EU's favorite autocrat - a Putin asset - against the democratic opposition.
