Sunset and sunrise in Onguma Nature Reserve, Namibia. Superb night’s sleep in the Dream Cruiser, an exceptional safari sleepout. It’s a very rare privilege to be totally alone in the wilderness (with just a friendly gecko for company). Woke to the sound of lions roaring, far in the distance

The quiver trees in Windhoek’s botanical garden are topped with bright shoots. In all my previous visits, I’ve never seen it as green as this.

Wonderful to be back in #Namibia. The Windhoek - modern and quiet, with rooms named after regional wines - is a serene place to decompress after the journey. Birds chirping softly all around
