Me: “I have a story.”

My daughter, sarcastically: “Bless us with your stories.”

Me: 😑

A food item came out slightly off of what my daughter wanted.

Me: “Maybe you’ll discover you love it.”

*tries it*

Her: “I did not discover that….Not at all.”

Re-upping this again because it's properly on point.
I’ve been saying this in talks for years:
Code is a liability. The system is the asset.
In the LLM + agent era, this has become literally true. 🧵

Freeman & Forrest is a year old! It's been a wild, incredible journey and we've learned so much.

I'm remembering an executive we pitched early on who called us a "small business for shitty little companies."

Anyway, we've paid technical content creators $1.7M. I'm proud of that. fnf.dev/one-year

I have somehow assembled one of the best teams I could possibly have.

A couple things I’ve found work:

I hire kind, low-ego humans. These are people who can learn, accept feedback, admit mistakes, and grow as a team.

I strongly favor weird backgrounds.

Funniest quote of the day:

“Courts operate in two areas: law and equity. Equity is vibes.”

It’s been a weird morning.

Them: “I’m from New Jersey.”

Me: “Thank fuck.”

The Democrats are a great example of what happens when you prioritize minimizing negative feedback vs. prioritizing visibility.

Being visible is 80% of the battle. So what if some people don’t like you?

Stop prioritizing people you’re never going to win over anyway.

I know this runs counter to a lot of advice but… Do not try to improve on the things you’re awful at. You’re probably always going to be bad at them.

Instead focus on the things you’re good at. Rise to the absolute top at those things. The rest either doesn’t matter or can be outsourced.
