States have more immediate responsibilities to their citizens than does the federal government (10th amend).

Elections are an area of direct responsibility where states manage the process themselves, ensuring free and fair local elections.

Outside federal interference is unwarranted in elections.

Trump and Musk's doge didn't find waste, fraud, and abuse; it found a well-run government.

Now Trump has shifted to attacking the poor, beneficiaries of SNAP, HUD, Medicaid, Medicare, and other subsidies, to satisfy billionaire greed.

In the years to come, we will examine these times and this regime dispassionately, with academic rigor.

Well-considered books, theses, and essays will be written and read by millions of students the world over who will engage the material soberly. As knowledge spreads, it will benefit our society.

Happy Holidays?

The Trump administration's Woke War on Christmas began this month with harassment of military families on Tyndall Air Force base, in Florida, when they were ordered to take down their Christmas decorations.

“People need to find joy however they can right now,” one commentator said.

This is the right move.

The nonsense where pols and analysts are opining that the Senate Democrats' abdication of their responsibility to protect Americans' healthcare might somehow work to their benefit in some backhanded way is just more horse-manure.

That hasn't worked and it won't this time.

Donald Trump did that.
Schiff: "The president -- 'I'm going out to play golf.' One thing that is so shocking to me is that they're appealing to the Supreme Court for the right to cut off food from people. Who does that? Who works so hard to cut food from people who need it right now? The cruelty is part of the policy."

All one need do is ask Mr. Trump how he would exploit such a change in the law if he owned a health insurance company to understand precisely how full of shit -which explains his fantasy airplane ride- he really is.
Seriously? He has no idea how insurance works or how to govern. I’ll never get over 77 million people thinking a man this incompetent belongs anywhere near the Oval Office.
