Basic research to better understand cats is rarely done.

Why? Because there is no funding, and no money to be made.

Please support our cat-friendly research aimed to help cats and make a donation today.

Wonderful mini-review in Trends in Parasitology explaining our recently published study on broadly inhibitory antibodies against the key virulence antigens that drive severe malaria

1. Today the NIH director issued a new directive slashing overhead rates to 15%.

I want to provide some context on what that means and why it matters.

From warmer days (June 22, 2024 to be precise): a northeastern hammertail. Very cool robber fly posing on the tip of a pulque agave.

We are in dire need for a Raven Pro software license. This license is $100. Is there a kind soul out here who would be willing to donate this license to us? We will acknowledge you in the published manuscript! #help #cats #catsofBluesky #bioacoustics #acoustics #Cornell

The thing I like most about #MacroPhotography is that I can escape reality for a little bit by immersing myself in the world of fascinating and beautiful small creatures. They are right there in front of my nose, all I have to do is take the time to observe carefully.

My first #bird picture here. The first and so far only indigo bunting I have ever seen, striking a beautiful pose the moment I walked passed with my camera ready. Perfect example of right time, right place!

"Meoooow! I'm Namibia. I live at Cowboy Cat Ranch with my sister and brother. We were rescued about 10 years ago from a city kill shelter when we were teeny tiny. There are two other cats living here as well. They are super old, and we are still super young!"
