24 years ago, Buffy continued the tradition of having less-than-stellar birthdays. Spike was absolutely NOT jealous of Buffy's surprise blind date. They did NOT use the personal massager for naughty things. And Buffy was kind enough to help Spike with a cramp. In his pants.

25 years ago, Spike accompanied Dawn on a trip that would lead to her discovery of her origins, making this the second time a significant revelation about a Summers woman in his presence.
He then helped Buffy track her sister down, assuring her along the way that the outcome would be good.

24 years ago, despite not being the only adult in the house, Buffy took a low-paying job to help keep the lights on and the roof all roofy. Spike offered to help (which, headcanon, is what those demon eggs were all about, but ANYWAY) and he ended up being the best way to take a work break.

The Zeppo is a fun episode, even if ultimately a little underwhelming considering Xander's revelation and growth lasts until the start of the next episode, where he's reset to status quo. But it does deliver a wonderfully realistic view of how melodramatic and overwrought Bangel could be.
