Are NPR journalists trained to use a sing-song smiling vocal delivery for every story no matter how serious? ICE assaults, death in Iran, high prices, it all sounds like they are discussing recipes on a talk show, no gravitas whatsoever. I want Jack Speer-level newscaster seriousness dammit.

Turkeys are highly intelligent. They recognize each other by voice and have over twenty vocalizations, similar to human speech. They can remember over 1,000 acres of land and can navigate traffic. They form lasting friendships, display empathy, and mourn losses. #veganuary #vegan #veganfood

Happy little white flowers on a shamrock oxalis. The plant dies back to nothing and then reappears out of the blue. It reminds me that I’m allowed to be surprised with happy moments. In these times you must be intentional about it. ☘️

🤪 Was reading the pattern wrong so I frogged the whole thing & started over. 🐸 The rows I’m working on now are color pooling! I darkened the pic so you could see it better. I didn’t know this yarn could do that! It wasn’t planned so it’s a nice surprise, am super excited to see how it ends up. 🧶

ICE is NOT taking “worst of the worst” as Trump promised. They are beating, dragging away valued members of our communities, some have lived here since childhood, some w green cards, some US citizens. It doesn’t matter any more. People killed for nothing. ICE is Trumps pvt army. His regime lies.

Central Coast CA: 200 people gathered at Mission Plaza in San Luis Obispo tonight for a vigil for Renee Good. I had to miss it, but there will be a protest Sunday morning the 11th on Hwy 1 and Kansas Ave, will def be there for that!

The locals in my area commenting on a fb post about a vigil tomorrow for Renee Good has me in despair over their callousness. Easily outnumbering supporters 3:1 on the thread, they all support the ICE officer 100%, & blame her for attempted murder, basically it’s FAFO as far as they’re concerned. 😭
