A gorgeous essay that will break your heart, by Tatiana Schlossberg (Caroline Kennedy's daughter). "I have added a new tragedy to her life, to our family’s life, and there's nothing I can do to stop it," she writes of the mother she's tried to protect all her life. www.newyorker.com/culture/the-...
A Battle with My Blood

Is this Novo’s sneaky thank you to Banting, Best et al? Because, truly, how did they miss this? 😳
Now how the heck did Novo Nordisk end up with such poor patent coverage for Ozempic/Wegovy in Canada? Incompetence cannot be ruled out:

Appreciate the framing of the fertility conundrum as a challenge that requires more than what social/behavioural interventions can offer. We need more than employer-friendly policies (which are helpful!); we need solutions that expand the repro timeframe*.

My father, Tom Beauchamp, has died at age 85.

He was a truly extraordinary man: a giant of modern philosophy, a moral paragon who stood up against segregation, and the kindest dad I could have hoped for.

The Washington Post has published a wonderful tribute: www.washingtonpost.com/obituaries/2...

As a Georgetown University philosophy professor, Dr. Beauchamp in the 1970s worked to shape the guidelines for medical research involving human trials.
