This extortion racket would even make Chapo Guzman blush. Not even hiding that the true purpose of kidnapping Maduro was to steal Venezuelan oil.

I can’t wait to see the fantastical claims in the indictment fall apart when forced to actually produce evidence. This case is built on the feverish dreams of a senile president and his minions.

There are currently 4 people claiming to be president of Venezuela:

Nicolas Maduro- jailed in Brooklyn
Delcy Rodriguez, Maduro VP
Edmundo Gonzalez- won election
Donald Trump, Marco Rubio, Pete Hegseth as Junta

The only one exercising power is Delcy Rodriguez

What a bizarre performative takeover in Venezuela where the actual government denies it has been overthrown and continues in power. There is a huge gap b/w Trump’s statements and the facts on the ground. A lot of anti-Maduro Venezuelans are going to be pretty upset when things stay exactly the same.

“His followers, longstanding Chavistas or armed opportunists, could very well mount a prolonged insurgency — the type of war in which the population is held hostage, regardless of political preferences. It is very easy to create chaos and make a country ungovernable.”

Well at least there is no dissimulation now. Trump is taking over Venezuela for the oil. And he is going to run it. Threw Corina Machado under the bus.

The illegal war in Venezuela is the culmination of Trump’s illegal presidency. I’m not a fan of Maduro, but US imperialism is not the solution for Latin America. I hope there is a brighter future for Venezuela, but the next few weeks will see a struggle for power in which Venezuelan blood run.

Despite buckets of money, Portland homeless policies resulted in more deaths. We need more humane and effective policies. Sweeps don’t work. How many more people need to die before the politicians wake up?

Portland Said It Was Investing in Homeless People’s Safety. Deaths Have Quadrupled.
The city responded to an increase in homeless deaths by intensifying encampment sweeps and adding emergency shelter at the expense of permanent housing. Experts say this has perpetuated the problem.
