The heroine in A Disturbing Prospect, Olivia, came to me first. She really brought the energy. Young, fresh on the page Olivia is very different from who she grows into by the end of the series. Some readers think she’s too much—too sexual, specifically. I guess it’s offensive for her to like dick.

I wrote A Disturbing Prospect in like a perfect storm. I’d just gone through trauma-centered therapy and I was processing all this pain. Not just my own, because I’m unfortunately not the only rape survivor I know. And “Disturbing” poured out of me in two weeks. It was my revenge for all of us.
